A Conservatorship Does a Body Good

For all her on-going storyline, I have to say that Britney Spears looked rather wonderful at the Teen Choice Awards last night.

She won the award as the "Style Icon". And while her dress was a bit country hillbilly wedding (well, country hillbilly honeymoon might be more accurate), Britney herself looked rather..gorgeous.

I mean, at moments she seemed to nearly be channeling Faith Hill's face or somethin'.

How do they do that??

I was never a huge fan of Britney Spears.

I don't know. I guess I was just past the sugar pop school girl tart phase by the time she hit it really big.

And then she became, tragically, such a train wreck.

But now she seems to be doing so well. The conservatorship over her is said to now be open-ended as everyone involved is pleased with the relationship and the results.

It seems that she went from essentially bankrupt and losing her kids to now being a custodial mom AND having tens of millions of dollars in the bank (once again).

'Can't do better than that. But it proves that anything is possible when one's parents love you and you surround yourself (finally) with people with only your best interest in mind.

'Too bad Whitney and Bobby Christina couldn't have such people in their own tragic lives.

I was always fortunate to have a lot of loving, supportive people in my life. I was born into it,, And since then, I have always been lucky to have had it come into my life, too.

Maybe we "Will" or attract certain people into our lives. I mean, I have never been one to suffer fools well.

And fools stay away.  lol

Well, they're fools SMART enough to know to stay away.

So they're smart fools. But fools none-the-less. Smiley Happy

And they stay away. lol

Do you seem to attract positivity & supportive people to you? Or are you one who seems to always draw the bad guys into your life...for some "unknown" reason?

She's always been a pretty lady.    I see Jessica Simpson.

As for the 'thhhhhis close n*p slip'...wow, if I were the producers for a TEEN show, I would've had her dial it down just a wee bit.

It's obvious this Teen Show wanted to attract the adults (EEEPS....that was just creepy typing that! ICK!)

She looks RIDICULOUS. The dress is UGLY and UNFLATTERING. A ZERO in the talent department.

She's a "STYLE ICON"? ROTFLMAO!

Sounds like they are laughing all the way to the bank.

The dress is horrifying for a 'teen' show.  I do find her amazing to be able to pull herself together again tho.

I know people always say it's money, but you still have to have a certain amount of willpower.  That being said I'm not a fan of hers.

The dress is rather different but then it was designed to be.  She has a lovely set of teeth.  Very important if you are in the public eye.

It's a taste issue--on several fronts.  (No pun intended.)

Re: A Conservatorship Does a Body Good

I think she's prettier now.

She lost that chubby teen face and it thinned out and her features are beautiful.

I can't remember her story other than being a part of the Mickey Mouse Club and then it exploding from there.

She was young and I'm sure it was hard to handle.  Don't know if I could've handled it as a kid either.

I think she's gonna be okay.  I hope she's gonna to be okay.  In fact, I pray she's going to be okay.

Re: A Conservatorship Does a Body Good

Oh, don't get me wrong. I thought the dress was atrocious - but kind of endearingly atrocious, if you know what I mean.

After all, one always wants a bit of nuts with one's Britney.

The dress itself reminded me of something a little girl would have made from her grandmother's lace curtains...while grandma was passed out from all the Wild Turkey 101.

Too bad she isn't five-years-old. I think that's the biggest problem with the dress. What a five-year-old can get away isn't always the best fit for a busty woman & mother of two in her thirties.

(But don't tell Britney that. I'd hate to see a relapse).

But I will say that if anyone could pull off the tattered moonshine wedding look, its Britney.

And while it seemed a tad trashy for a teen show, what's so new about that? It was, at least, a sweet trashy as compared to the hard trashy of some pop star kids half her age these days.

When it comes to trashy, its always a hard call. Do you want your trash soft or hard? lol

But OTHERWISE, I thought she looked beautiful. She seemed happy - radiant, even. I agree that she's lost that forever-teen face to become a more beautiful woman. I think that alone makes the dress and bod less jolting these days.

You wonder how exactly she "won" the Style Icon Award though. I imagine there must be a lot of pay-offs under some table somewhere. Not so much because she looked like a runaway bride, three months into hitch-hiking across the country to escape a bad marriage...but would TEENS have really voted her as their style icon??

Somethin' suspicious about that all on its own.

But it gives a Britney another big surfboard to take home. And that's all that matters in the end I suppose. Smiley Happy

And for all the goofy, minimal talent, her estimated income is projected to grow to approximately $100+ million by the end of 2016.

So somebody (reeeeally) likes her.

Re: A Conservatorship Does a Body Good

Oh, my goodness.  That dress is unfortunate to say the least.  But, it's classic Britney Spears.  She's thriving and doing well and while the conservatorship helped....it is not main reason for her turnaround.  She's bipolar; that's what almost destroyed her.  Medication, therapy and her own hard work to stay healthy is what saved her.
