Oh my goodness!  I remember those awful things!  I never used them, but that's a very good point about immunity lol!😂😂❤️❤️

Haha.  Sometimes, back then, we didn't have a choice and had to use them.  And here I am, all these years later, alive and able to talk about it!

I've visited my doctor many times, and have never been diagnosed with "dirty towel disease".  LOL.

You pulled it down to a clean dry spot and if it had run out you used it anyway.  Most likely peoples hands were clean when they dried them, and it would have been impossible to anyone to have been able to wipe their bottom on.  Like the other poster I never had dirty towel disease.

@goldensrbest , my grandparents also had an out house, but I don't remember what we used either. They also had a hand pump in the kitchen for water. They finally moved to a house in 1963 that had indoor plumbing.

Eeewww no!  I won't even use those things that blow hot air.  I bring extra toilet paper out with me, dry my hands and use it to open the door before I throw it away.

Last time I went to my local library a lady was taking a bath in the sink in the ladies room (water all over floor and paper towels everywhere). I walked in turned around and walked out. DH said what's wrong? I said "you don't wanna know". I told the staff when I checked out books but they didn't care.
