@SeaMaiden  Marketing?  How so?

 Replaying the horror and saddness on TV for hours at a time on EVERY CHANNEL competing for  their market share $$$$and viewership.   Just not necessary.   remembrance is fine.... but the news and TV channels go overboard and it is not for remembrance anymore.  I can have my opinion. You can have yours. If you enjoy watching it over and over and over again. enjoy.

@SeaMaiden  I asked a simple question, that's all.  It had nothing to do with "opinion".  I'm not watching over and over again but I understand those who choose to do so.

Ease up.

Exactly. I will look at the blue lights tonight from my deck and say a prayer.

The History Channel always has programs; have to check the Smithsonian Channel too.

Yes the weather is the same today as it was 16 years ago.  I live about 60 miles from Shanksville Pa - will never forget any of it.

I am disappointed that "As It Happened" didn't seem to be on this morning - I have watched it every year pn CNN or MSNBC.  It showed what happened in "real time" - what was on NBC that morning as it was happening.

I think it's important to watch programming - as horrific as it was I think you tend to forget HOW horrific.

To each his own though.

15 years was enough

a good time to stop I think

I think u could find it on YouTube if you looked

@Cakers3   Sometimes having an opinion on this forum makes  others single you out negatively for feeling different from them.  Makes one feel  on the defensive I guess...

While I think programs like this are educational for those who were too young to remember or were not born yet, I vividly remember that day and all the overkill on details that followed endlessly and will never forget.  I don't really want to see it over and over again!  I would hate to be family of those who lost their lives to have to relive it and even fell obligated to participate. While some may want to, I sure would want my privacy.

I totally agree with you.  I use to think about the families wondering if they want to relive this every year.  I don't want to see it over and over again either.

@Boehm Collector  Your post brings tears.......I'm sorry for the loss of your friends.  It is 16 yrs already and I'm sure it still hurts.  Hugs........

many need reminders.  with family members serving in Afghanistan where this war continues, i think it is important.
