I am on the West Coast and did not hear anything about this on the news. Hope it gets back to normal soon!

Western New York State, between Niagara Falls and Syracuse, was also hit by the strong, hurricane-force winds on Wednesday. In the Rochester area alone, there were 200,000 homes without power. Many (or most?) school districts are still closed today. My parents, very close to Lake Ontario, lost a tall pine tree that blew over and uprooted.

My area of southern WV was hit by a strong storm last Wednesday morning that knocked our power out for 34 hours. In the 35 years we've lived in this house, I have never literally felt a storm slam into this solid brick house like that brief storm! My husband and I were watching The Price is Right when the wind began to howl, and when the strong gust of wind hit, I truly expected windows to blow out, and the roof to lift off the house! The power lines thru the right of way behind the house were hit by so many limbs and pine boughs, we saw sparks flying that set 3 fires. Thankfully, it was raining so hard, the fires were put out quickly, otherwise it would have been a bad situation on the mountain behind us.
Prayers to you and all who are affected in MI.

See, I told you it was windy here. But that wind took out areas and things I didn't know about until the next day. The city near here, made the national news. Big old tree got uprooted. We were lucky!! No loss of power for us.

@cherry So sorry that you lost your power for so long. You are lucky to have a generator.

@cherry Hi Cherry.
Wow that is alot of people!
Stay safe everyone be careful and I hope the power gets back on soon.

Oh @cherry I feel your pain. I used to live in what I would call a "mini mitten" as just 11-19 houses would lose power sometimes for 2-3 days so we were on the tail end of having service restored. I will give a lot of credit to ComEd as they worked hard to ensure we don't have these extended outages like we were used to but it is tough when you lose your electricity for an extended period of time like that.

I hope your electricity is restored sooner rather than later. Thank, God, for your generator. It has been extremely windy in IL too. Take care. ![]()
