Prayers to that poor child and her family. That said helium is becoming extinct and considering what it really is needed for. All blow up balloons etc should be outlawed. We do not have an unlimited supply and within  the next 10 to 15 years we will be facing an incredible crisis.

One of the victims of a helium shortage will be MRI machines, meaning fewer of these tests may be available. This thread caused me to research the helium shortage, I had never heard of it. Very interesting topic.

I agree Maggie my DD brought it to my attention a couple of years ago when I had ordered of all things a helium filled flying shark. ( I am a Dr.Who fanatic and it reminded me of one of their Christmas episodes. ) Well after finding out about the shortage and where the helium was needed said shark was sent back. It is also needed by the CERN. I don't even want to think about what would happen with that.
