@Tinkrbl44 As with everything it's what you value and what you want to pay for or now.  Me?  Better eggs.  I do not buy those cheap thin shelled awful eggs.  

Yes, there are differences in the way chickens are raised, what they are fed, and the quality of eggs.  An egg is an egg is an egg, like and apple is an apple is an apple.  

But all produce, meat and farm products have quality differences, grades, and values.  Growing up in farming, believe me the farmer gets paid for different quality products when he sells. Better (whether it matters to you or not) you do pay for.

I quit buying eggs but the last time I bought them there weren't any left of the kind I prefer. I think these days you can't be choosy so buy what you can get and feel good when you can find what you want.

I used to buy pastured eggs from a girl at the rink whose family had a farm.  What people think of as free range is really not possible in a lot of areas.  Too many predators.  They had guard dogs for the animals, but still kept the chickens in an enclosed area.  What they had was what would be termed a large chicken tractor which  is open on the sides but the chickens are still kept within the tractor via chicken wire on the open sides.  They would move the chicken tractor to different areas on the farm so the chickens were always able to have fresh grassy areas to browse.  Regrettably, my grocery doesn't carry Pastured eggs.  I think free range just means the chickens have access to a small open area attached to the chicken house. 

Even my husband's friend who has chickens in a suburban neighborhood has lost chickens to a hawk.  And once they discover the easy meal, they don't go away.

Where I live, Egglands Best have been the cheapest for a pack of 18 for some time now.!!!  always were most expensive...I don't get it but I'll take it!!

We go through a decent amount of eggs every week and always buy Pete & Gerry's or Vital Farms.  We've tried a bunch of different ones and these are our favorites.

A few times we've had to go to a couple of stores before we found them, but luckily we've been able to.  I would hate to not be able to find them.

i honestly go more by price than what is written on the labels.....and they have to be XL or JUMBO eggs mostly.

Nah, I'm not gonna go by whatever the article says.  

I don't do eggs, but I care very much what we eat.

If I want to spend more for organic, you betcha I will.

I prefer anything that's Certified Humane.  Can find most of what I want at Whole Foods.

Technically, I eat only certified humane because I only eat plant based foods.

Seen chickens shoved one on top of each other in the back of tractor trailers barrelling down the highway.  They are exposed to unbelievably hot temps in the back of metal crate looking tractor trailers.  Was horrified this past month following a truck that a chicken's head was stuck out side the metal.  It was freezing cold and the truck was doing about 70 miles an hour.

I don't care to eat animals injected with antibiotics, which most are, so I eat little meat.  The antibiotics probably go into the eggs too.  Maybe someone can tell me about that.

@bargainsgirl,  I experienced that for about three weeks not too long ago and took advantage.  For the past two weeks not one carton of Egglands Best or other "premium" eggs are available.
