Sorry ladies. I had to go to the store and fix some things for dinner tomorrow. We are having our Easter dinner tomorrow because that's when we could get everyone together.
Every time I get back to Oakland I go to Fenton's. I love their crab sandwiches and of course their ice cream.
Thanks for the gold star.
Henny, it's nice to know you think strawberry blonds can wear red too.
I just saw on the news there was a big mudslide in Piedmont.
Good night ladies. Hope you have a nice weekend.

My grandmother always called the city sampencisco--- all one word. The peninsula was "the country" lol!
She would never buy red for me as I am a strawberry blonde too. When I finally talked my father into buying me a red wool lanz dress I thought I had died and gone to heaven. My mother bought me a red coat for college. It was gorgeous. double breasted with beautiful gold buttons.
henny, I love the Madonna Inn! We stayed there once and had dinner on one of our road trips to the south of the state

Noel, I don't know if they ship their cakes but you could ask. As close to Blum's as possible.!
I only stayed there once. It was about thirty years ago. We were on our way home from The City and it was very late and we pooped out. The room was the most hideous room I have ever seen. Lime green walls (bright) with sixities/seventies plastic pendant lights with mosaic orange and yellow plastic pieces. The bed spread was a hippie velvet red and orange patchwork. There was a red plastic couch in the room. It was so bad that we howled with laughter. I took pics.--The public rooms of the place were cute and the bathrooms were a hoot. I do remember the food being quite good. I hope they have redecorated the rooms.

When we were at the Madonna Inn, every room was supposed to be different. Theme rooms. I remember they had a great bar, LOL.
I also loved to stop at Anderson's Pea Soupery and take silly pix of my daughter at their photo op area.
And Solvang, always Solvang

Solvang is still wonderful.
Anderson's, however, is not the same as it was. They used to have cute shops and it was clean . It is pretty run down unless they have recently redone it. AFWIFE might know if it has been upgraded recently.
I remember at Madonna there was a cave man room. Who knows what our room was called.

I remember reading about the cave man room! That's too bad about Anderson's. We haven't been there in years but it used to be a nice place.

They may have redone it. I just remember being very disappointed the last time we stopped there. There are plenty of really cute places in Solvang though.
