6th baby dies while using this product

http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/national/6th-baby-dies-nap-nanny-recliner-officials-urge-o...

I saw this on my yahoo page. If you do not want to open the link just google "Nap Nanny"

This product has finally been removed from sale but people might still see it at garage sales etc.

Thought this was an important notification and for those who didn't see the info about it. The thing looks harmless. THe problem apparently is when people us it in a crib. I see other products on amazon that look similar.

Oh how horrible! Those poor families.

Yes, it's very sad Preds. And the thing is, if you look at the product it looks wonderful and harmless! I hope the word gets out because you know those will be seen at garage sales etc.

what happens to cause death....they DO look harmless....are they just falling out????

why were they not pulled off the shelves when the deaths started to happen....

okay....I just clicked on the link and got my questions answered...shame on the company for not acting sooner to get them off the market....

very sad, scottie.....what is even sadder....these things will wind up in garage sales for some other unsuspecting mom will use them for her baby....

do you remember those cribs they finally pulled off the market...many years ago...the babies were getting their heads caught between the crib bars...then some of those were in garage sales for more babies to die....

Circles, yes exactly. That's why I posted it here. If the word gets out we can hopefully save a baby.

Croemer, thank you for posting the pictures. It looks like a harmless product doesn't it? I think a good message for parents is that we really shouldn't put anything in the crib except the baby.

While this is absolutely horrendous, according to an article I just read, the product was never intended to be used inside a crib.

However, the item was recalled last year but the company who made it refused to pull it from shelves.

Re: 6th baby dies while using this product

I have always thought those looked dangerous, unless the infant was really young (couldn't roll over) and was supervised. I would never leave a baby sleeping strapped in that.

The article said a baby who died was 8 months old. Babies can roll over and some can crawl by that age -- way too old to be strapped into a pad overnight to sleep.
