Re: 6 yo boy tests positive in Palm Beach County

We are still learning so much. It will be interesting to read the statistics when all is said and done,

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County confirmed that a 6-year-old child has tested positive for coronavirus.

Health department spokesman Alex Shaw initially told Contact 5 the child tested positive in New York, but he later said the child was never in that state.

The case is currently under investigation.

from what I read before only very young children seem to be immune to the virus.

From what I have read, if small children get it, it might be mild but the danger is they can still spread it to more vulnerable members of a community.

Not only are the younger people getting infected but some of them in Europe are reportedly seriously ill with infections.

Given the lack and inadequacy of testing up to this point, we have no idea what we don't know due to lack of measurable data.

@pitdakota   Oh no-do they know transmission?

3 year old in Texas was from father travelled and passed to wife and child when he came home; he had no symptoms right away.  (Air travel in USA)

Re: 6 yo boy tests positive in Palm Beach County

@Cakers3, no they just release the age, gender, and county of residence.  So no specific information on transmission.

At the press conference at 5:00 today, also released that a 6 year old  has also tested positive.

Our first case in Ky was a 25 or 26 year old female that was hospitalized.  She is now listed as recovered.
