Five University of Tampa students who had traveled together and with other UT students during spring break have tested positive for the coronavirus, the university announced on social media Saturday.

The announcement comes ******** that Florida spring breakers could become     spreaders of coronavirus in their campuses and hometowns.

of young people drinking, partying and going to the beach over the last few weeks, even as Gov. Ron DeSantis was warning not to congregate in groups larger than ten and restaurants and bars were closed, has sparked outrage on social media.

for not mandating the closing of public beaches earlier, saying that he wanted to leave the decision to local governments.

On Friday, Panama City became one of the last cities to close its beach, with Mayor Mike Thomas voting to close it while continuing to stress that it was unnecessary.

He said DeSantis’ decision not to order beaches closed had been an “opportunity” for Panama City Beach,

These kids are wearing the Dumb Socks, not the Bombas.  They will get the hospital beds and the oldies will be on the hospital floors.

It's a shame they couldn't all be quarantined somewhere together, instead of letting them back into the general populaton.  JMHO.

Well....well.....welll.....so "the chickens came home to roost"......If the situation wasnt so serious--

-the situation would almost be sarcastically humorous....-sadly who knows how many innocent people they also impacted on their journey home--

But just watch---they will end up suing the State/Gov for failing to close the beach....And the Spring Breakers will lack any sense of responsibility for their actions and their decision to go party on the beach.................

I had heard all beaches in Florida closed a week ago. Dd and family were there and were told to park up and leave their condo because all beaches were closed, so not sure what the heck went on with that, but they lost their deposit and two nights at their condo.

It's a shame they couldn't close the exits and test all of them, even though there's a incubation period.
