Imagine going to Macy's or any other clothing store and being charged $10 to try on each item.  That's basically what QVC is doing.  If I order a piece of clothing I have to pay $3 shipping.  If the item doesn't fit or is of poor quality, I have to spend $6.95 to ship it back.  I am done ordering clothing from QVC.  My last purchase was an RFID wallet.  It looked like someone had used it and sent it back.  It cost me $9.95 to send the wallet back.  Outrageous!!!

No, not the same at all.

IMO, it is the same thing. If I pay $3.00 to have an item shipped to me and $6.95 for the return. I have paid $9.95 to try the product. That is no different from handing a dressing room attendant  $10.00 for every item I try on and do not purchase. I have nothing for the money I gave QVC or the attendant.

I stopped ordering clothes from QVC years ago.

Clothes you order and clothes you try on in the store are two different things. Nobody would try clothes on in the store if you had to pay. It's not a fair comparison

Q might need to change it's name:

Quality  -  is hit or miss

Value  - way off - logo & im comes to mind

Convenience - post office trips time consuming and  costly.

Nordstroms is comparably priced to Q and it's free ship and returns.

An explanation really shouldn't be necessary - but I'll bite.  QVC is not charging you $3.00 or $5.00 to try something.  There's a thing called 'shipping' as in getting what you want from point A to point B (you).  When in store you can immediately touch a item and try it on.  If you don't like - just hang it back on the rack and walk out of the store.

Apparently, you don't shop online often. Most retailers charge a flat shipping rate or free shipping when you hit a certain number Or have coupons that you can use. They do not charge shipping for each item. Qvc is over the top on their shipping charges and I rarely order because of that fact.
