@Mz iMac I'm not an attorney, but I'm guessing the woman will get to keep the 500K.  LG offered it with "no questions asked" implying that it was OK if the people that took the dogs returned them.  The perps will probably need that money for bail and attorney fees and will end up in jail anyway.

I don't believe you're allowed to benefit from a crime.

And I agree with some others.  I always thought it was highly suspicious that some unnamed woman "found" the dogs tied to a post somewhere miles from where the crime took place and so soon after.  And she just happened to be a good Samaritan who wanted to do the "right thing".

The phrase here would be that her story "didn't pass the straight face test".

The news reported that Gaga never paid the money because she was instructed not by the police until this was investigated further.  As someone else said, the woman who turned the dogs in was suspected immediately.

Her story didn't make any sense.  She claimed she found the dogs with leashes still attached, tied around a tree (or pole).  If someone is going to kidnap high dollar dogs, they aren't going to turn around and tie them up and leave them.

@Lipstickdiva.

Yes they could decide to do that if the dogs were too "hot" to re-sell due to worldwide publicity about them. The kidnappers didn't know they were GaGa's dogs

I think they knew exactly whose dogs they were stealing, but I could be wrong.  They at least knew they were worth a lot - worth nearly murdering a man to get them.

If there is any justice, they will all rot in jail for a long time.

@Venezia  From the reports I read they didn't know they were GaGa's but yes knew they were a valuable dog breed  and their intent was to steal and sell them.
