5.2 EARTHQUAKE IN N. CALIFORNIA @ 3:08P!

[ Edited ]

Ours hit at 3:08 pm, and was a 5.2 magnitude, with a depth of 17.75 miles deep, which is shallow, and was about 8.7 miles off shore.

It felt like it was a 6, and seemed to last 20 - 30 seconds!

My poor cats didn't know where to run to!

I felt slight movement, then wham! It for real big, real quick!

All I could say during the quake was, "Holy ship! HOLY SHIP!!"

No damage, except for some rattled nerves!

Here in Utah, we've had several decent-size quakes (4s and 5s) today and a ton of aftershocks—very unusual for us and very disconcerting, with quite a bit of damage.

@Anonymous032819

I thought you meant the ones in Utah!

Goodness! Earthquakes in Utah, CA and even Carolinas and TN today and Mon.

So bizarre! (and scary!)

@Anonymous032819 didn't feel anything in San Leandro and no one I know in SF said anything so don't think they felt it either.  Hope you're ok.

@JudyL

This was centered around Eureka and Petrolia, Ca.

If you look on the USGS website, it should be there.

@Anonymous032819 ahhh no wonder we didn't feel it.  Sorry you had to experience it though.
