most people i know are making it a FOUR day weekend, including my daughter and son in law.

Does this mean your banks and government offices are closed Monday?

no @teganslaw , it means they are using a personal day on Monday. they dont want to give up the chance for a four day weekend. Smiley Wink

No official 3 day weekend but many businesses will close on Monday and many workers will use a vacation day.  Some will call in sick.  Our condo office sent an email that they will be closed on Monday as well as Tuesday.

My BF works for a 500+ employee company (susidiary of 3M).  They are closing the plant for the weekend and have given everyone July 3 off as well as the 4th.

Totally didderent from Memorial Day where they required some of the line workers (who don't usually work Saturdays)  to report for the weekend.

He works a forty hour + week from Monday to Thursday so he's getting a five day weekend.

Since Juneteenth is a Federal holiday I assumed there was no garbage pickup and didn't put my garbage out, I assumed wrong!

Next year the 4th of July is going to fall on a Thursday because February will have 29 days instead of 28 days.  That will be another chance to get a four day weekend.

Not every private enterprise uses the Federal holiday system to determine its hours of business.

For example, the NYSE is open on Columbus Day and Verterans Day, even though the banking system is closed.  (It will close early on July 3rd.)

our county prints a schedule for the year and it is mailed prior to the end of the year. it can also be found on their official website. i keep the print copy  in my junk kitchen drawer so i can always double check.

My DD has a 4 day holiday--except she doesn't get paid for Monday but she does for the 4th--she took a ppo.
