With the anniversary of 9/11 today, I keep thinking of my son.  He left the states on Friday on his 4th deployment.  It breaks my heart that he has to go and that we're still fighting.  He lost one of his soldiers the last time and it really hit him hard.  Please pray for the safety of my son and all his soldiers. Please pray that the powers-that-be will work harder on diplomacy instead of more war.  Please pray that the hundreds of thousands of soldiers who came home maimed, injured, and with brain injuries are well cared for by the VA.  They deserve so much more than we are providing.  Thank you.

I will be honored to pray for all our military people at this and all times.  Sending good thoughts and all prayers for your son and all his unit and all surrounding units as far as they spread.

Prayers also for the innocent who get tangled up in all of this mess that they have nothing to do with.

Re: 4th Deployment

I'm always aware of how precarious these seemingly unending adventures are. I wish that the public was still privy to all the horrific news stories and photos that I remember watching in the late 60s. There is just not enough pressure on TPTB anymore. Out of sight, out of mind.

@CalminHeart God Bless you and your son and thank you to him for his service to country- times four.

My son is a young officer in the US Army. He is stationed abroad- I would rather not say where for his security and safety. He was in second grade living in suburban NYC area on 9/11/01 and remembers that day well, as do all of us old enough to recall.

Sending good wishes to him.

I know how hard it is.  Our oldest was in the service (Middle East) on 09/11/01.

How long has your son been in?

I hate the way our military operates with the same people doing all the nasty work and shouldering the burden for our freedom over and over.  It's just not fair!  It needs to be shared by all the citizens of this country.  If there aren't enough volunteers, let's go back to the draft,  and there's no reason why women should be exempt.   Imagine trying to be a good parent while having to interrupt your life repeatedly to go to that hell-hole in the mid-East.  So hard on individuals and families.
