Normally the campground has a party and we go to it but this year some of DH's family will be here for that week and they want to have something and we are invited, so we'll be there instead. As nice as his family are - I will miss the campground party that usually included a DJ - a lot of great food catered in- and the pool.

Don't love it. For starters it to darn hot to go outside. It will still be over 105 at 9:00. Second, we have stupid neighbors who think it fun to set off firecrackers. One neighbor almost set his house on fire a couple of years ago, fortunately they have since moved, now we have this jerk behind us who sets them off under his patio cover. How stupid are these people?  If they want to see fireworks, all they have to do is drive a quarter mile down the road and see them for free. Or they can see them from their front yard.

The ONLY thing I don't like about the 4th is the idiots who start with the firecrackers three days early and carry on three days late. It doesn't bother me so much, but it def bothers my puppy so neither of us get to sleep very early.

No special plans, but hope to golf all three days of the long weekend. Yeah!

Re: 4TH OF JULY!

[ Edited ]

Love, love, love 4th of July.

We have a yearly tradition of getting a boat dock next for our friends and we spend all day down at the boat.  Sometimes if the water is nice enough, we'll head out on the lake, throw out the anchor and relax.  Sometimes we'll take the jetski out and sometimes we just hang at the dock.

In the evening, weather and water permitting, we head out on the water to the area where the city does the annual fireworks display.  There is nothing like seeing them from our boat.

@MaggieMack, you're lucky they only start 3 days early and go 3 days late around you.  I'm not even kidding, they've already started shooting stuff off around here.  It drives me nuts and my dog is terrified.
