Let's not all forget to stock our gift closets!

They did say it uses about the same amount of electricity that a regular lamp does. I does make sense that it would use less than most heaters do since it would heat up the whole room much faster than a regular fan that doesn't circulate the air.

I've been using small Holmes heaters, one or two in each room. What I like about them is their cords don't overheat/get hot. We only use them when we are in a particular room. As I recall, they used/use cords that are above regular minimum standards, which is nice. I don't leave them on for hours at a time, as they have a thermostat, and they cycle on and off, etc. at different temp. settings.

I have 3 little Broan heaters and also bought one for my mother-in-law. At their biggest dimension they are less than 6", in fact they are almost square. Now one of my hockey players owns his owns Electrical Company, I am talking wiring homes and businesses etc, and he bought them at his price for me.
He gave me 2 of them and I paid a total of $30 for the 2 others. Now our bathrooms are not huge, but I can tell you they will heat it enough to make you hot, even in our very cold winters here in Nebraska.
Also have 1 right beside me here in our Computer room, which is a 10'x12'(120sq.ft)room and on the low setting I have to turn it off as it gets too hot. These also have a "temperature control that you can dial up or down" and it will turn this heater on and off, if you choose to use this heater on a automatic setting.
It also has a "fan only" setting.

And this actually heats the air in the winter to whatever temp we decide to set the thermostat. Same with the summer AC. Set it on a certain temperature and it has a compressor that cools this almost 300sq.ft, outside room, to whatever number we choose of the Thermostat.
Dyson, like many other electronic companies, are trying to use their name to cash in on things that are not make for extreme weather conditions like we have here in Nebraska. This is especially true for our patio room that has 3 outside walls which are all glass, thus little to insulate as opposed to drywall, and no product like this Dyson gadget will come even close to doing the job out there.
With all due respect John not only are you are comparing a fixed installation heat pump/AC to a highly portable fan and space heater you are describing a room and "extreme weather conditions" relatively few people have.
Marp2,
Same respect shown to you. I was showing how a much more expensive and complete cooling heating unit cost than something one can move from room to room. And this room to room device only moves air around as compared to actually heating and/or cooling.
Really now "installed $535 compared to portable fan and supposed heater"?
Was making a point of why something that has no compressor or heating elements should cost only a couple hundred $$$ less than a portable device that is only for "not so extreme weather conditions".
I also bought a 13,000 BTU "portable" Heater/AC the is parked in our Master Bedroom. Have had this for 3 years now and I paid $335 delivered for that unit. This room is 17'x15'(255sq. ft)and it has no problem heating and cooling this in extreme weather conditions. And I am thinking that "relatively most homes have a master bedroom", no?

We bought one of these 2 or 3 years ago. My husband likes the bathroom HOT when he gets out of the shower. He has a TV in the bathroom so spends a lot of time in there. Both the heating and cooling cycles are put to good use, depending on the season.
He bought it, he loves it, and he paid for it.
