I think the most money I ever found was $15 in a parking lot. I have found several wallets...but just turned them in to the store CS desk, never looked inside.

I can answer that! DH and I went for a late lunch at a waterfront cafe and we were the last of the lunnch crowd and the waiter brought our bill (in one of those little black folders) and......there was a hundred dollar bill tucked in the bottom corner! woo hoo.. We looked at each other and laughed and wondered why the universe was testing us. We called the waiter over and told him he acted sooooooooooooo weird! I think that c note had a good/bad story to go with it and he didn't want it getting out. He didn't even thank us.... he just scramed.

I found a wallet once, I don't know how much was in it but it was a lot of cash. I was on the train, going into the city to meet a friend to go Christmas shopping. There were two women in the seats across from me and when the got off at their stop, a big bulging wallet was on the seat. I took it. I did not not turn it in to the conductor, I took it to the Transit Police office when I got off at my stop. When we were kids, we were at the beach and my cousin found a diamond wedding ring set. It was tied in a men's white hankerchief, my cousin found it when he was digging in the sand. There was no way to find the owner, no telling how long it had been in the sand but my aunt did look in the lost and found section of the local paper for a couple of weeks. And then she started wearing the rings which were whole lot nicer than her wedding ring set. It was like it was meant to be. My aunt was very tiny, she wore size 4 rings and that ring set fit her perfectly.

Started walking in 2000 and have found lots of items. Wallet with $330.00 cash and all i.d. I tracked him down that morning and returned. Checkbook, I carried it to the apartment's office addressed on the check. Cell phone, I waited until I got a phone call on it and explained to the owner's son I had the phone. His Dad came to me and picked it up. The really interesting one was a credit card and I looked up the name and called and got the owner's wife. She was more concerned about why her husband's credit card was in that area since she did not know anyone in that neighborhood. I told her that was between them did she want me to mail her the card or not? All other loose cash on the streets, two $20.00 bills at different times and three $5.00 bills together on the sidewalk went to church and a food bank. All loose coins I keep in a huge vase in my living room in foyer. Filling up for retirement.

If I found $100, I would keep it (depending on where I find it) and split it with my hubby.

What about the other side of the question? How would you feel if you lost $100?
I've lost $90.00![]()
One time $50.00 I put it in the pocket of a hoodie and $20 twice I thought I put in my pocket of a jacket! (and no there weren't any holes in the pockets!)
After being terribly disappointed and upset I said to myself, "I guess whoever found it needed it more than me"![]()

I found a cell phone just outside a grocery store recently and turned it in to that Lost and Found.
On my way out, I noticed a worried-looking man and asked whether he'd lost his cell. He said he had and I told him I'd just turned it in to the store's L&F.
By the way, if you ever WANT to find random bills, just meander through the parking lot of a gambling casino!

I found about $75.00 (in euros) on the ground in Ireland once. We were at a horse race, where the locals were betting. I kept it.
The higher the value of something, the more likely I am to turn it in, I think.

I never find anything! I just lose stuff! Earrings are my specialty. Alsways losing one gold hoop it’s infuriating. Lost a cell phone once, that was devastating. Currently can’t locate my salmon tweezers. I guess I’m just a LOSER!
