@Suziepeach - still way out to Jim Miller Park. Cobb Health has suspended doing first shots out there so they can get the second shots finished.

I have read that so many more vaccination centers are going to be opening across the country (football stadiums, Pharmacies, etc) but there is an issue with vaccine shortage.  

A friend of mine told me they opened up a center over in Gwinnett and filled up 7,500 appts in just one night.  They appts are spread out over 1 week.

@gidgetgh at least you'll be at the same place- kudos for that, right..  even though it's a bit of a trek for ya, enjoy the ride, maybe get a little shopping out the way?  

Yeah there's a vaccine shortage but what makes me mad are people coming from out of state and getting shots, of which I won't go into detail but was told by someone included in that ten shot bottle that two people from NC came down for theirs(their son is an Atlanta Doctor)- so that knocked two people trying to make an appointment at a local pharmacy.  I'm sure lots of people are doing favors for others and those that need it, keep trying and trying.

As I mentioned they changed our next vaccination from our health department to a new church up in Canton, off Riverstone Pkwy.  I am guessing the health department wants more space for more people so this will work.

It's hard to believe we're all actually going through this!!  Stop the insanity, right?

@Suziepeach - and I read on Facebook a few days ago that a woman drove over to Paulding County health dept, with no appt, walked in and they gave her a shot.  That made me mad.  

I'm fine with going to Jim Miller.  It's way out of my area, but my GPS shows me the way, LOL. I'm just looking forward to getting this done.  I'm glad you've got yours scheduled.

@gidgetgh see that doesn't surprise me about that lady from Paulding County so I figure the health department thought, well she came all this way why not maybe?  I don't know but had that been any of us at our health department, nope you don't have an appointment.  I certainly want all of us to get the dang shot but the more that leaks out about things- like Elberton, well doesn't settle well but not a darn thing can be done as nothing will change. I believe it's been the ones giving the shots and allowing so much to happen but that's me.

LOL we are looking forwared to getting this done too- who knew a shot could make people so happy plus I remember getting the polio vaccine at the armory in my East Tennessee town when I was a little girl..  my oh my how one doesn't forget!

Got my first shot yesterday. Yay!  Had to go 40 miles away.  Went to Embassy suites, Norman,Ok.  IMMY LABS did the shot.  Long line but fast moving.  These people had it down to a science.  Next shot February 26.  Got the Pfizer one.

Still waiting for dose #1 in New Jersey.  We have 6 mega sites, all booked.  I can get the vaccine if I travel 100 miles which I'm not willing to do.  I'll wait and continue measures which you must do even if vaccinated so my life won't change.  Biden is sending in troops to help vaccinate.  In my state, we are ready to go says the Governor..,,small thing, no vaccine....you can't make this up! 

I gave out Sabin OPV and it was not a mess like this.   Even during the flu vaccine shortage and H1N1, it was handled by local health departments in my area and all went well.

There are over 20 million doses of vaccine missing. They were allegedly purchased last year but no one has been able to determine if they are stashed in a warehouse somewhere or where they went, if they ever really existed, or if someone pocketed the money. Huge mess even trying to determine what mess they have to clean up.

@gidgetgh   Sounds like we are getting our vaccinations in the same county. I got a text and a phone call for my 2nd shot for Wed. 2-10. in Jim Miller Park. Like you I was nervous that I had not gotten a call. After the first two weeks Cobb started making the second shot appointment when you got the first.
