Re: 25 Things Millennials Aren’t Spending Their Money On

So what we've learned thus far is that not every Millennial eschews everything on the list and not every Baby Boomer embraces everything on the list.  That seems pretty logical.

I don't know where that list came from.My son is a millennial & he is interested in atleast half of the items on the list.

He bought his fiancé a diamond engagement ring.

Eats his fair share of Burger King/ McDonalds.
  Goes to the movies.

  Eats cereal.

  Puts mayonnaise on his sandwiches.

  Eats meat.

 Uses napkins.

 Wears suits often.

 Goes to the movies/buys tickets.

 Takes cruises.

 Stays in hotels.

Hopes to buy a house in a few years.

Drives a car.Saving to buy a new one.

 Watches cable TV regularly.

 Buys lottery tickets.

@NicksmomESQ : It sounds like your son has old-fashioned values— and that’s a GOOD thing!

The list makes sense to me.

I have a millennial son, and except for milk, he can certainly do without anything on that list.  Add CDs, DVDs.

I, of course, am not a millennial, but have no need for 20 out of that list of 25.

What I don't understand how did Mayonnaise get to be #1?

@drizzellla : I was wondering that too. I guess the list is in no particular order!

@Johnnyeager : Yes, it’s definitely a generalization, showing trends.

I agree

I saw a few I don't buy either

As long as they have a phone, everything else is irrelevant

Re: 25 Things Millennials Aren’t Spending Their Money On

My daughter is a Millenial and the things that she and her husband don't do are:

Irons

Crusies Cable TV

Landline Phone

High Heels(she mostly wears flats or wedgesm she is a nurse so she is on her feet all day).

Suits-she dresses much more casual....

They own their home and their cars though and they eat their fair share of Fast Food, and drink a lot of milk and eat a lot of cereal, and always has.....A few of the things on this list seem just silly!

There are a number of things on the list that I don't buy either and I'm not even close to being a millennial.

Here are some additional items Millennials are shunning, from another list l found:

golf

casual dining chains, such as Applebee’s

motorcycles

banks

department stores

bar soap

wine with corks

@handygal2   I agree with these except both of my kids still like wine with corks and my daughter likes to buy handcrafted (craft show) bar soap.

They live downtown and walk to work and eat out every meal or they live at home and mommy buys it for them.

They don't do laundry either.  Etc.  Somebody takes care of them.
