Same as last year. Good grief. I think the problem is with you.

Re: 2019 Christmas Lights

[ Edited ]

This year seems normal to below-normal for holiday lighting.

A few years ago, a house in a neighboring development had all its lights (shrubs, trees, and front of house) on a motion detector. As you drove down the street, it would be dark.  Then suddenly the property lit up.  Then, as you drove away, it would go back to darkness as you watched in the rearview mirror.  It was very cool.  The first couple times, I was wondering what the heck just happened.

@GenXmuse, I think the problem is you weren't clear in your post.

I think you're the only one who pretended not to get it so you could lash out at me.

I agree @Pearlee ....lots of high tech light shows that move and change colors/shapes.  So much fun to walk my little guy in the evening and look at the Christmas lights.

@phoenixbrd. I'm so glad you put your last sentence in about walking your little guy and enjoying the lights. I actually almost mentioned how much I miss walking my dog and enjoying all the lights now that I no longer own a dog after 30-plus years of dog ownership. What you wrote was always one of [the few] pleasures of winter.
Thanks for mentioning it. 🐕

Here I have noticed a bigger display of lights too, and our town is not huge by any means, maybe 100,000. Our Small zoo also for the 1st time did a huge light display that is just fantastic! It has been up since November 1st and will continue through Jan 1st......It has been such a huge hit and it was so nice to see them do something on such a huge scale......Its been very nice and festive!

Our zoo has lights too, and it is phenomenal, and gets better each year.

People are always festive here....its tradition and since the weather is not that cold so the lights make it look and feel like Christmas.....

For me to notice the lights would require me leaving the house after dark.  I'm a really early riser, but I'm always home before dark.  To be honest, I don't even remember the last time I drove at night or we were out at night. It's been that long.

I can certainly drive at night but we're just never out at night.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
