I just read an unbelievable story about a 2 year old who walked 7 miles alone through the Arizona wilderness afler disappearing from his home. NBC news.com

What an amazing story!! Thanks goodness he had a sweet dog to keep an eye on him at the end.
That poor little boy & his parents! I would immediately put up a fence surrounding my yard with a locked gate!
I have a 2 year old grandson who is full of energy & mischief! I can only imagine how a child like that could easily wander off....

Fence or no fence, a two year old should have an adult watching him. The parents should be charged with neglect.

@occasionalrain Agree. I wonder about the parents/caregivers who are responsible for the deaths of children in overheated cars. Never hear what happens to them. Hope they are sent to jail.

@grandma2pkmh, that is such a touching story.
However, so you can continue to share it please try to edit your post and remove everything in the link before the nbc part. That will change it from a live link which is prohibited to one that is not live.

@occasionalrain Oh I agree. I only mentioned it since he seems to be the type that would wander out and a fence would be more of a challenge for him to get away....plus extra locks on the front door.

WOW, something sounds reallly off about this, 7 miles seems to be a very long way for that child to walk alone without food or water. I hope it is all true and there isn't anything sinister behind this. Thanks to the dog and owner, they saved a life for sure.

@occasionalrain Agree 110%. The article makes no mention of parents/guardians/babysitter, etc.
No mention if child was checked out at a hospital.
I'm sorry but, I do not believe a 2 yr old walked 7 miles when found. I think someone dropped the 2 yr off on the rancher's property.

I agree with you. Children get tired. That is why people take strollers with them when they go places. Could you imagine having a two year old walking at an amusement park like Disneyland. They wouldn't make it past the first ride.

This is Buford the Anatolian Pyrenees who found the boy.
