Re: 15 SIGNS OF A MATURE PERSON

That's who I want to be and I have progressed greatly toward that in my many years.

HOWEVER, I disagree with number nine:

9.  duty and obligation is less important than choice

To me, doing your duty and fulfilling obligations is very very important to me.  That is very much who I am.

#16 should be "don't type stupid stuff on the internet"

Thank you for this touchstone.  It has certainly given me much to ponder.

Wow! Seems less like a mature person and more like the perfect person. Doubt I could live up to all items mentioned...ever.

@jubilant        Um, wanted to respond to this #16, on this thread, because I did not want to be included, and now that I am on the thread I feel some relief.

As for the #'s 1 thru 15 I am still trying to comprehend their meanings. Guess I am not mature but maybe immature, or senile old one. Oh well I guess it is just another evaluation for anyone who gets older.

This was a fun wondering list.

Re: 15 SIGNS OF A MATURE PERSON

I think these are things we can strive for.  Believe me, I don't think any of us ever totally arrive. At least I haven't met that person, yet.  I don't slam the door so hard the pictures fall off the wall or worse yet, throw a bottle of something at the wall anymore....so I guess I'm progressing!  Yes, I had a fairly "good temper" when I was younger.

I stuck a heel of my shoe in the wall once.  Scared my ex to death because he jumped out of the way just in time and it would have hit him right in the face.  I left it there for a couple of days.  LOL  Didn't know my aim was so good and my temper was so bad.  Guess I was a little angry.

4.  when treated poorly does not respond in kind

I think a lot of people have a problem with this and have seen the back and forth dialogue that goes nowhere

Yet, I do think that the recepient should not have to lay down like a kicked and abused dog.

To me this reads as a list of the signs of wisdom. I am missing several of these, but proud of the couple I can check off.
