@PA Mom-mom ..............We are in western Ohio visiting family.  We got here Monday and it has rained every day.  Everthing is water logged.  Around noon here today it started to clear off and we actually had sunshine.  It was only in the 50's and very windy.  There is sunshine ahead for your area soon.  Next week its supposed to be in the 80's here.

@Kachina624 I did not go outside today, but so far the smoke has stayed to our north. We are trying to keep track of the fires, but they are so huge. My husband is trying to see if one gets to the ranch he visited. Las Vegas has me concerned.

Some moron was complaining because his tax dollars were being spent to fight a fire in a foreign country.  I have zero patience with stupid people.  That reminds me of the time one of the New Meixco state legislators was traveling and needed to change his flight. The person at the counter said they needed to see his passport. He asked why. The counter person said because he was traveling to a foreign country.

The winds look like they will be bad for the next couple of days. I want these fires to stop, but it doesn't look like this is going to be an easy fire season.

@On It    Have you been to Las Vegas?  They have all these Victorian cottages that rich Easterners built as summer homes in the early 1900s.  They are so cute, you just want to take one and remodel it.  They have a big, fancy train station which is how the visitors arrived and there's a college in a huge Victorian hotel that's in danger of being destroyed since its on the West edge of town.  There's even the usual plaza with a haunted hotel.  Climate is about like Santa Fe, just over the mountain.

@Kachina624 I haven't, but my son and my husband have been there. It seems a lot of historical buildings are at risk. I just hope there is a good monsoon season.

I wish they would close all the forests to campers. Someone had an open flame campfire near Ruidoso last week.

I just saw your photo. What a beautiful building! I hope they can save it.

@On It   Too bad we can't tell the moron his tax dollars STARTED THE FIRE.  It is the result of a "controlled burn" on a windy day by the US Forest Service.

It was 91 today but so humid the weatherman said it felt like 105. I concur. It will be in the mid-to-high 90's all week; very early for our area. My flowers have been thriving in our recent rainy, cooler weather....they are already showing signs of protest, especially the geraniums.
I am never ready for hot, humid weather.

I am jealous. We are headed for 100+ again today. Does it rain year round or is this a spring thing?
