I've never had a contract phone ....ever. I could never understand someone having one.
Have to keep our landline. I need it for our security system. Otherwise, I would have gotten rid of it.
Netflix is included with out cable package.
Tablets are OK. I have one. But I prefer the laptop

Actually, now is a good time to buy a blue-ray player because the prices are very low. It's a good deal if you have a dvd/blue-ray library.
I'll stick with with larger screen computers. Those tablets are too small for me to see.
Won't give up my cable.
I guess I'm a dinosaur. I'm a brewtosaurus.

Me, too!! And I haven't even thrown out my old VCR or all the tapes I recorded--it still works if I want to use it. Bought a converter to move the VCR tapes over to DVD, but my son "borrowed" it....he's promised he'll do my tapes as soon as he has time!
Maybe they're gonna start making underwear with built-in computers and cell phones.....you can talk into your bra-a-a-a........!
LOL My daughter laughs at me because I still have a TV on my kitchen counter with a built-in VCR/DVD player in it. I still have VCR tapes (Christmas ones) that I still watch! Heck, I was still taping shows on VCR tapes until a couple of years ago when we got digital cable!

We have a desk computer as my eyes are bad. We have a landline as it is dependable in emergencies such as fire or quake.

ITA about the Blu-ray player. I recently (well, on Thanksgiving Day when the price took a dive) got a really cool Sony Blu-ray player that also has all the apps. I paid $55 for this great Blu-ray player. The model number has 3100 in it.
My latest technology stuff (I'm more into fun tech and not so much bags and shoes) is the Roku 3. I have a couple of those and they kind of fill the gaps left by my Tivos. I highly recommend the Roku 3. I managed to snag my first one when the price dipped down to $89. Wish it would again as I'd like to get another one for my husband.

Because the list suggests items not to buy in 2014, it doesn't mean you need to stop using them. I will continue using many items on this list.

Is there something better than a microwave? I couldn't give mine up.
