the cable tv comment is strange. hulu and netflix do not show "shows" right away, so if this is a show I want to watch when it airs, like Game of Thrones, why on earth would I want to get rid of my HBO?
I think that cable needs to be revamped, so I can subscribe to channels that I want to (a la cart), but I don't see people getting rid of it anytime soon en masse.
hotel rooms - I will always use hotels when I am on business trips - my job is not going to look for a rental on my behalf - lol. And even on vacation, I would want a hotel room, unless I am there for a long time or with a ton of people. I am on vacation - I don't want to be mucking around with laundry or making my bed!! hahaha

I keep our landline for business calls and others I don't want calling me on the cell.
Also because when the power goes out, I drag out an old plug-in phone (not wireless) I bought at Target years ago so I can still have a phone to use and one that won't run out of power.

There would be several channels that I would get rid of immediately if we consumers could pay a la cart.
Lifetime, Fox news, syfy, the spanish stations (because I don't speak spanish), the cartoon stations (unless my grandkids were visiting), hockey, golf and basketball channels.

Me too! And I like Garmin much better than the phone app. And yeah, I'll be renting that apartment next week instead of hotel
Thanks for posting this Sunshine. I got a smile out of it.

Ditto this and add my blue ray player. It still works. I have satellite. I don't how folks are now only relying on their cell phones to tell time and not wearing or owning a watch.

Digital cameras (I have 2 -a cheaper one and a really good expensive one)- The better one takes much better pics than my kids iPhones. In fact I would rather have old fashioned cameras yet with FILM! (and speaking of that I have hundreds of discs with pictures, and am tired of pictures on discs. I have started getting pictures made again into real pictures!).
Will never get rid of my land line unless they become non existent!
Laptop- I don't think so! I have an iPad and I hate it! The bigger the better for me!
DVD players. Uhm we have thousands of movies and continue to buy them, so I don't think so! I would rather watch them on our big screen tv so I wont be popping them into a computer to watch. AND I heard computers soon wont have a place for discs so we wont be able to watch those movies on a computer anyway, and what about all my pictures if they get rid of discs for computers? Another reason Im getting pics made to have in my hand!
Cable tv- I debate on this all the time. But I like my cable and especially our dvr! (I hate pop up ads when watching shows online, and commercials thus the dvr!)

No land lines for us. No digital camera, just my phone. No kindle either as I love the feel of a book in my hands. I like my lap top.
I would like a smart tv though.
