wonderful re-issued books

[ Edited ]

Many of you are probably familiar with Nancy Pearl's Book Lust books. (If you're not, they're truly worth checking out.) A former librarian (years ago, there was even an action figure released of Ms. Pearl), she achieved sizable recognition for these guidebooks,.

Pearl was able to have a number of books reprinted; I want to praise two that I have read.

The first is Kaye Starbird's The Lion in the Lei Shop (told from the point of view of a girl who, along with her mother--her father is in the service--was evacuated from Pearl Harbor after the attack). It is a unique saga.

I've just finished Rhian Ellis' After Life. It's about a young woman who lives in a spiritualist community--she herself is a psychic--who may have committed a murder. GRIPPING!

I bought a few more of these re-releases--on to them!
