Canterbury, UK. Setting for The Canterbury Tales. Historic small town, beautiful architecture, yet close to activites in the city.

Great question! Great answers! I'm still pondering-although my first gut reaction was Wonderland-as in Alice in-what does that say about me? lol Actually it's a place I would just want to visit-not live. I will have to think about this harder and come back with a real answer-it's hard for me to separate the place from the chracters.

@LoriLori great question! My first reaction was Persuasion, but then I thought about it and decided The Virginian. I'm definitely a Molly Stark Wood type. But, I would need indoor plumbing, of course.

Any Stephen King locale. Not really! Although I've read many mysteries set in Maine and enjoy the setting.
