A nice series is anything by Hope Holloway. She has quite a few and I have enjoyed them. Just finished the 8th and last one that took place in The Keys.
Another fun series is The Country Club Murders. They take place back in the 70's. These are by Julie Mulhern.
Another series by Julie Mulhern is her Poppy Fields Adventure series. 8 of those books. All very light but fun reading.

I adore the Mitford Series and have reread it more times than I care to admit, so addicted to that town. Along with another small town life series beginning with Cape Light by the late Thomas Kinkaide and Katherine Spencer.
But for something with a bit more bite to it I really liked David Baldacci 's The Atlee Pine series. Atlee is a special FBI agent solving crimes across the country while searching for her missing twin sister since the age of 6 I believe. Long Road to Mercy, A Minute to Midnight, Daylight and then the conclusion, Mercy.
Also love all the series by Terri Blackstock. If I Run, If I'm Found, If I Live and the Restoration series, Last Light, Night Light, True Light, Dawn's Light. The entire world looses all power in the same instant, nothing anywhere works. It happens with planes still in the air, trains still running on tracks and people driving their cars. All comes to a complete stop and the world as we all know it crashes and living life as to begin again for who knows how long.

@MariotaMurielle wrote:I love British detective mysteries and have read so many. but, the last series I read ( an Israeli secret agent living in England) was so violent and sad that I just had to quit.
then I totally switched gears and read the Jan Karon Mitford series, about a bachelor Episcopal priest who lives in a small NC mountain town and marries in his 60s.
I thoroughly enjoyed the change of subject matter but now I'm ready to go back to some good British mysteries.
our library has hit and miss selections so I will probably be buying used books from eBay.
please recommend some interesting detective/mystery series, preferably set in the UK.
@MariotaMurielle I recently discovered two authors new to me. They both write British murder mysteries. You might want to check out books written by Paula Daly (the main detectives share a love/hate relationship) and Jane Casey. I've borrowed almost all of them from the library over the last couple months. I thoroughly enjoyed them all. I love Elizabeth George but she hasn't come out with a new novel in probably 2 yrs.

I am not a real fan of British writters, but several years ago I started reading Jeffrey Archer's Clifton Chronicles and could not stop. If you haven't read them, you should! His William Warwick series is also very good! This week I'm catching up on the last Longmeyer books (by Craig Johnson), somehow I'd missed them. I'd forgotten how much I like his writting! Then there's C.J. Box and the his Joe Pickett series, and anything written by William Kent Krueger!

I would recommend the Sweepea series. It was recently on TV and is well Very controversial. But I loved it. The books (6 in all I think) A serial killer for laughs, that's it. But the character is appealing and funny. The books are in a diary format and Sweetpea is currently preganant.

It's an older one but one of my very favorites...A Place to Call Home. I think it may currently be on Acorn or BritBox. It's the best and has the best ending of any series I have seen.

@MariotaMurielle I've recently been enjoying several historical cozy Brit mystery series and wanted to bring them to your attention.
First, there are only a handful of installments in this one, but it's very nice. Anna Dean is the author and the books are 'the investigations of Miss Dido Kent'.
Next are the mysteries investigated by Olive Belgrave in Sara Rosett's series.
Katherine Schellman's Lily Adler series is another historical Brit mystery series. This author also does a Jazz age series I'm just exploring.
A children's series but I'm findng it great fun, by Jocelyn Marthe, the Aggie Morton mystery queen series.
Another I've enjoyed is the wartime series by Kate Parker (the deadly series), another Brit series.
Not providing much detail, I know, but all of these are very enjoyable and not too graphic. You might find them worth exploring or checking out more detail online. ![]()
