last night i had the opportunity to attend a large book signing/interview with Daniel Silva, author of his new book "House of Spies." he was interviewed by his wife, Jamie Gangel of CNN - and it was informative and fun. he shared how he works, how he researches, how quirky/nerdy he is, his background, what writers he enjoys, and how he approaches developing his character Gabriel Allon. there were hundreds of people there and he stuck around to sign books - quite a feat! if he is in your area, it is worth the effort to go out to see/hear him

Wow! That sounds like an amazing experience. He is one of my favorite authors, and I have his new book on my hold list at my library. To hear about his approah to developing Gabriel would be worth it.

How special. It really enhances the reading experience when the reader has an intimate connection with the author.

Excellent author...never disappoints. Gives you enough background in case you read the books out of sequence.
interesting information on Middle East, Russian, and Vatican history.

I'm reading his new book, "HOUSE OF SPIES" right now. It's a hefty read, at 523 pages! It's a little slow so far, but I'm only 100 pages in. There's a lot about the English spy, Christopher Keller, and very little Gabriel Allon, but I hope that will change.

He was in Phoenix and I missed the event. He's one of my favorites. I'm reading House of Spies and yes, it's hefty. It's going to take a little longer to get through but so far, I'm really enjoying it.
