Father Kavanagh and his wife Cindy from the Mitford series by Jan Karon.

 

They seem like they would be life long friends, offer good advice, and they care deeply about their friends and family, ALL good qualities to have in friends!

@AuntG   Oh, darn it!!! You took my answer. Now I have to think of another one. Ummmm......hmmmmmmm...... gosh, I don't know. I so admired Scarlett. OK, Scarlett O'Hara it is. A hard life but I'm thinking more of the parties and that Scarlett. I might think of another tomorrow since it's 'another day.'
