What are you Reading? July, 2016

Happy July to all my reading friends. Summer is here and it's time to relax and spend more time reading new and wonderful books.

I’d like to thank @lainey1 once again for all the time and effort she put into making this monthly book thread an enjoyable and entertaining one.  Here are some of the suggestions she requested, just in case you need to brush up:

Underline, "bold" or CAPITALIZE the name of the book you're reading - it makes it easier for us readers to see what it is.

Include the author of the book - there are so many books with the same title (if you are recommending a book, we want to make sure we read the right one!)

Post a few words about the book - would you recommend it or not, and why.

Tell us the book genre - is it fiction, a mystery, romance, historical fiction, biography, or any other type of book.

Of course, there is no obligation to do any of the above.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know, as we’re always open to new ideas!

Have a great month, and enjoy!

Just started "Hamilton" - no opinions yet other than it will be a long read at 800 pages!!!  Wish I could see the show but that's also a long shot!

I want to thank Lainey and Sunala for being the caretakers of this wonderful thread. I may not post much but have gotten many great suggestions.

How else would I have gotten to know Ove and love him?

Have a safe 4th!

Not a specific book recommendation.  Recently ordered a few of the Marcia Clark books from Amazon for my Kindle.  Have gotten almost halfway through the first book (the ones ordered are a series) and I like it very much so far.  It is a legal mystery and the main character is - wait for it - a prosecutor.  So far a good read.  I didn't realize she had written quite so many.  Guess a lady must make a living and she's a good writer.

Thank you, @sunala, for stepping in for @lainey1 to continue our monthly book thread!  I enjoy this thread about books, and discussions with my fellow readers.

I am reading The Forgotten Room by Karen White, Beatriz Williams and Lauren Willig. It follows three generations of women. I am enjoying it so far!📚

Picked up Missing, Presumed by Susie Steiner - it just came out, a British police procedural. So far, I'm enjoying it (am only 10% in on my Kindle).

Just finished Everybody's Fool by Richard Russo.  It's the sequel to Nobody's Fool and most of my favorite characters were back.  The book is well written, the characters are solid and Russo has a great sense of humor.  The movie version of Nobody's Fool starred Paul Newman and the only negative is that they can't do a movie version of this book because no one can replace Paul Newman.
