I am reading Victoria Thompson's newest book, Murder At Trinity Place, book 22 in the Gaslight series. This story involves the murder of a dairy owner on NYE as the country goes into the next century.
I am always amazed at the amount of research that Victoria Thompson does for her books. If you like history with your mystery (apparently, I am rhyming today), you will enjoy this series.

@sunala : Lovely thread!
I'm reading the classic "The Arabian Nights" [1001 Nights].
The work was collected over many centuries by various authors, translators, and scholars across West, Central, and South Asia and North Africa. The tales are built around the frame story of Scheherazde, a young woman telling tales to a murderous king each night to save her life.
Also reading "Not one Damsel in Dostress: World Folktales for Strong Girls," collected by Jane Yolen. Fabulous tales told for centuries.

I am reading In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin by Erik Larson.
It's a fascinating yet horribly frightening account of how hitler rose to power in Berlin in the 1930s.
Erik Larson is an excellent author.

Just finished “When Breath Becomes Air” by Dr. Paul Kalanithi. It is a short read written an neurosurgeon who dies of cancer while still in training. His thoughts about what is life and meaning. It stays with you.

hi @Chicagosuburbangirl - you made this book sound good so I looked it up on my library website. I read about it and decided I really want to read it. I was going to put it on my list when I discovered I'd already put it on my list a while ago lol
So, I'm going to read it! Thanks for the heads up.
