I'm reading one of my favorite authors to start the new year, Michael Connelly.  The book is The Wrong Side of Goodbye.  I'm almost to the end of the Bosch series but I have the Bosch/Ballard series to look forward to.

@smoky22

I love the Bosch/Ballard series. I just finished "The Night Fire" a few weeks ago which was the third book in that series.

I finished The Wrong Side of Goodbye and it was the absolute best in the series for me. It had everything, two great plots and a logical resolution.  It even made me tear up a bit at the end.  Who would think a Harry Bosch book could do that.

 @icezeus thanks for the positive recommendation on his new series.  It's always good to know someone else likes it.

I must say I don't like the new series at all. I like straight Harry Bosch-no woman involved. It's just me I think.

@Judaline

Sorry you do not care for the books. I just feel as if  they are getting better and better.

@smoky22 I love the Harry Bosch series. I have been reading them since the first one came out years ago. I just finished the latest Bosch/Ballard one. They're pretty good too. I also started watching Bosch on Prime. The TV version is also really good. I've always liked the actor who plays Harry. (Titus Welliver, I think that's how you spell his last name) So , if you have Prime, give the series a shot. I'm on episode 5.

@NEvans2  I absolutely love Harry Bosch and will be sorry when I read the last book in the series (which will be next).  I'm hoping I like Bosch/Ballard.  I have Amazon Prime but never watch their shows.  Maybe I'll make an exception for this when I finish the series.

@smoky22 @NEvans2

I actually did not finish the Original Harry Bosch Series, because I started watching the Prime show  (which is excellent by the way) and I could not go back to the books for some reason. I always picture Titus Willever, when  trying to read the books and it messed me up for some reason. The Bosch/Ballard series I have no problem reading.

I like the Michael Bennett Series as well. The first book, what a tear jerker even though you knew what was coming. I move around to different series as not to get bored, so when I return to that series that is the book that I will be on "I Michael Bennett".

Today I finished Run Away by Harlan Coben.  It's the first book of his that I've read and it was an excellent mystery.  I plan to get more of his books from the library.

@Catty2  He is one of my favorite authors. I think I’ve read most all of his books. I always try to read in order.

[ Edited ]

@icezeus @smoky22 @NEvans2 , it's funny how we react to actors in the major roles from a book series.  I watched a couple of shows of Bosch and really did not like the actor they chose for his role.  Stopped watching it.

One of Louise Penny's books was made into a TV show andI didn't like the guy they chose as Inspector Gamache either.  Didn't fit my vision of what Gamache should be.

Interestingly enough, I watched The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and thought that was very well done.  Elizabeth Moss should get an award for her portrayal of the female lead.  I generally don't love Atwood's books as I find them too depressing.  LM

@Lilysmom  I always pictured Inspector Gamache to resemble Hercule Poirot as portrayed by David Suchet. There are just too many similarities for me to ignore!
