Re: What are You Reading? January 2020

Too Close, by Natalie Daniels;

Meghan Hollywood Princess, Andrew Morton;  very good book and had good and disappointing things to say about her.  Interesting things about her father I did not hear in the news, he loves her very much from what the book reads.  Interesting I had not heard her best friend of 30 years since early grade school broke off with Meghan due to Meghan's treatment and divorce of her first husband.

30 years of friendship is a long time to just flit away for nothing.

I just finished The Dutch House by Ann Patchett, I enjoyed it, not my normal type of book I choose, but I am trying to expand my reading to books I would not normally choose.

Not sure what I will choose next, but I will report when I finish!

@Judaline - I finally got around to reading Blind Search by Paula Munier.  I thought it was so-so, and I agree, there were a lot of characters to keep track of.  I still don't know who was marrried to whom!  I think I will pass on future books in the series.

I had already decided that! I'm not liking my latest Margaret Mizushima as much as the first three (or four). It took really half way thru before it 'got good' and I'm liking it now but, I don't know. Lots of lovey dovey and not enough Robo. I like where the two of them go on a search together and that's where I am right now.

Re: What are You Reading? January 2020

I finished Owl Be Home for Christmas by Donna Andrews. It's book 26 in her Meg Langslow mystery series. I've enjoyed this cozy series over the years and she puts out an entertaining Christmas themed story for the past few years. This book is set at an Owl Fest conference at a hotel where everyone gets snowed in by a big blizzard when a murder happens. Yes there is 'owl' in the name so I assumed there would be info regarding owls but it was overload of owl facts and stories. It got to be so much that I started to skim some sections when certain characters talked a long time about owls. This was just an ok book in the series, she's had better and worse to be honest. I'll still be williing to try her next book when it's out.

@CareBears

That is the reason why I no longer post what I am going to read next, just what I have finished. I tend to have several books at home from the library, and I like to check how many renewals are left on them, what am I in the mood for etc. It's a complicated process that I have in my mind. LOL

I am reading Where the Crawdads Sing - Delia Owens.  What a wonderful and interesting book.  I am nearly 3/4ths through and have only been reading it for 2 days!  Highly, highly recommend!

@AngelPuppy1

Yes, what a good book!  It also has staying power as a best-seller.  It has been on the Top 10 best-seller list consistently since August of 2018.  Highly recommend to those of you who like to read fiction and are looking for something a little different.

@CareBears  I felt ambivalent about this book at first but enjoyed it in the end.

I just finished Clear My Name by Paula Daly very good book, especially toward the end!  I am glad I do not chew my fingernails, because there would be nothing left after the ending of this one!

Next up Here and Gone by Haylen Beck will post my review when ! fiish!
