@Judaline, the move The Winds of War was very good also. LM
Anything with Bob Mitchum is good, but this was really good, wasn't it? Polly Bergen was so good, too.

Love her books. Just received this as a retirement gift from a co-worker. Can't wait to read it since it is different from her others which appealed to me.

Thanks for the heads up, beckyb!
I have always enjoyed her books, and I will read this one even though it may be missing some of my favorite aspects. I forget which book included the recipe for "Our Lady of Sorrow(s) Snicker Cake," but I still laugh thinking about reading that.

I am still plodding through Bellefeur by Joyce Carol Oates. My attention must be waning in my golden years. I've had such a difficult time latching onto this book.
As a former English teacher, I find PTB downright loathsome. It goes against years and years of exhortations to students not to give up or give in!

Page 77 on Rococo. I googled the name of the recipe and the the whole thing came up so you can copy if.
The newest book as a recipe for Snow Cream that I have tagged to try if we get enough snow here in Texas for scooping some year.

I tried PRETTY GIRLS because I had enjoyed her COP TOWN. I will be very careful about picking up another title by that author.
My husband and I finished Lee Child's newest MAKE ME and, sadly, we're finished with the Jack Reacher character.
I'm halfway through THE SECRET WISDOM OF THE EARTH and so far it's a good read.

Pateacher, much as I am against pulling the bookmark too hastily, I will tell you that I would give up on Bellefleur. I read it because I'm reading everything by Joyce Carol Oates. Also, don't bother with Mysteries of Winterthurn (the last of the "trilogy"--but truly, the plots of the three books have nothing to do with one another).
I do, as I posted separately, recommend A Bloodsmoor Romance. I LOVE this book (and so does my little group of senior citizens taking my OLLI class on this masterpiece).
