I listened to The Girl On The Train and thought it was great as an audio book.
Right now slogging through The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows. There is one story line that is interesting but the book is way too long and I would never recommend it for any book clubs. I received it as an ARC and I want say to where is the editor.
I know there is no point in whining put it really upsets me that they got rid of all the book threads. Plus it is so much easier and looks better when I'm on a laptop ( using chrome) than on mini ipad another thing that makes me mad.

I PTBM early on this. Never got off the ground for me. Boring all the way up until the time I baled.

I give up looking for how to quote, so I will just say that flowers, my post about The Girl on the Train was for you.

Hi everyone - glad to see some of the regular posters found this thread again and that we have some new posters too! Welcome!![]()
I forgot I pre-ordered Grey by E.L. James and it arrived at my door today, so that's what I'm reading now. I know a lot of people weren't happy with the Fifty Shades series but I enjoyed it for a light, summer read.

Today I finished The Vacationers. I reallly enjoyed it, A LOT! I know it got some seriously bad reviews on Amazon (I just read several of them) but I actually loved what the bad reviewers hated. I thought the Post family and their guests were very interesting people in their own way, and I love their interaction. I was very taken with Mallorca, which was shown to be a paradise, and now I'd love to go there and see it myself!
ChynnaGirl, I read The Circle by Dave Eggers a few weeks ago. It was for a book club I recently joined, and this was their selection. I never would have read it on my own, but it was quite interesting. The more I think back on it, the more I realize how terribly frightening the premise really was.
And a little while ago I started Radiant Angel, the newest book by Nelson DeMille in the John Corey series. I only read a few pages, but I can't wait to get into it.
It's really good to be back here, seeing my old "book friends" posting and reading all your comments. I hope we will soon get our own Book Forum back. We sure waited long enough for it last time; here's hoping we'll get it again, this time for keeps! We have to keep asking for it!
In the meantime, I don't know if you all know about the "Float" feature this board has. There's a way of getting this book thread on the very top of the board every time you come to this forum. When you sign in to the forum, find this thread, and then go back up to the top left, where you will see a big red reply button. To the right of that, you will see the words "Options." Click on that little menu thingy and you will see an option that says, "Float this topic." Click on that and then, the next time you come to this board, you will see that this thread will be at the very top so you won't have to search for it. You can do that on any of the boards. It will make life just a little easier until we get our own book forum!
Happy reading everyone,
Sunny

I think the last I posted just before the old board shut down and they lost THREE MONTHS OF THREADS, I was just finishing The Secret Life of Violet Grant. Well I loved it. What a great book! Someone said Beatriz Williams has a new one coming out soon. Hope so.
Now I'm reading a book by an author, Robert Goolrick, I said I would never read again. After encouragement from like minded readers/posters here though, I changed my mind. I'm so glad I listened. I'm about half way through Heading Out to Wonderful. Really enjoying it.
Thanks everyone!
hi MrsSweetieBear!
It's good to see you here! I hated The Reliable Wife, and didn't ever want to read any more of his books. However, when Heading out to Wonderful came out, it sounded really good, so I read it. I was happily surprised. I thought it was very well written and kept me turning the pages through the night.
When you're done, give me a holler. There were a few things I wanted to discuss, but I'll have to think about it because I read the book a long time ago. I hope you'll be happy with the ending!

Hi Sunny, I'm glad you wrote to me and great timing too as I just finished Heading out to Wonderful. But I'm afraid I changed my mind about it and/or the author again. It started out great and I thought I would love it or at least like it. But it...took a turn about half way through and I wound up giving it only 2 stars out of 5. Don't want to say mor until I know this Spoiler Thingy worked.
