SUNNY, what else did I have in the book? Just a bookmark.  Other things in my bag were 2 pair of shoes (not good ones) that I was taking home, my $1 store sunglasses and that was it.

I'm hoping that someone turns it in to lost and found and will have to call next wk since it takes a few days to process things from lost and found.

It is amazing that this is the first time and hope the last I will forget something on the metro.Cat Mad

BTW, don't know how to quote, so this is why I'm replying separately.  LOL

If you are on a computer, hit the reply button.  At the top right hand of your text box you will see the word QUOTE in bolded, capital letters.  This allows you to quote the post at the bottom (or top), depending on where you put your cursor.

Thanks.  It was right in front of my eyes and I never saw it.  LOL.

Now we need QVC to fix this forum so IPad users have the same functions! I believe it was promised, but so far those features are NOT functional on an iPad!

It's fixed now that you can make paragraphs on the ipad so I don't think qvc is going to do anything else.  I can't see my profile on the ipad either.

Has anyone read any of these books?  We need suggestions for our book club.

Interpreter of Maladies, Jhumpa Lahari

A Hundred Flowers, Gail Tsukiyama

The Warmth of Other Suns, Isabel Wilkerson

The Maid Narratives, Katherine S Van Wormer

The Accounting, William Lashner

Remember Me Like This, Bret Anthony Johnson

The Secret Life of Bees, Sue Monk Kidd

Wild Swans, Jung Chang

If This Is A Woman: Inside Ravensbruck Hitlers Camp for Women, Sarah Helm

Prisoner of Tehran: A Memoir, Marina Nemat

Behind The Beautiful Forevers, Katherine Boo

I enjoyed Interpreter of Maladies. It's a book of lovely, readable short stories about immigrants. I preferred this book to her later works. She writes very well.

I looked at several of these books the one that I would choose is Remember Me Like This, Bret Anthony Johnson.   I did read Wild Swans, Jung Chang way back when it first came out I remember I liked it but it is long.

I read the Secret Life of Bees. I really liked it but it was a while ago and I can't describe it for you but you can look it up-sorry.

I loved Katherine Boo's Behind the Beautiful Forevers (it was my favorite non-fiction book of the year a couple years back) and Sue Kidd Monk's The Secret Life of Bees (her other books--not so much). I love everything Gail Tsukiyama has written (especially The Samurai's Garden).
