Re: What Are You Reading? December 2018

Stephen King's 'Elevation' was the dumbest book he's ever written.

On the good side. One of his shortest at 139 pages. Read free from lib.

@icezeus, good to hear that you like Patricia Cornwell’s latest.  I agree her books lately have been meh.  LM

I just started reading Debbie Macomber's Starry Night:  A Christmas Novel.  This is the first book of hers that I have read, but it had a really good rating, so I might continue with her books if I like it.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I pretty much gave up on him after Tommy Knockers, which I was convinced was the stupidest book ever written. I think Misery came out after that, which I picked up on a fluke, and actually enjoyed, but Stephen King lost his luster with me years ago.

@smoky22 - I finished Louise Penny's new book, "KINGDOM OF THE BLIND" and really enjoyed it.  I think it is one of her best novels.  Great plot and lots of funny repartee between the Three Pines neighbors.

I just started reading Night of Miracles by Elizabeth Berg.  It's a continuation of her book about Arthur Truluv.  She is one of my favorite authors and I got on the waiting list at the library when I saw this was on order.

So true, hun ! When he was young and hungry was when he hit his stride with Carrie, etc.  Then, once he got rich and famous got some bad habits, had that accident, lost wgt starting looking bad he seemed to have lost his edge.

I like his old stuff the best. I don't pay for any of his books, just get at lib. that way no harm -no foul LOL

Joe Hill, his son, wrote couple of decent books.

I haven't read Elevation, but Stephen King's book Dreamcatcher is really bad. I didn't even finish that one. I liked his earlier books, but not so much now.
