@insomniac2

I have read that series too; Robinson is such a good writer.  He writes about human nature and relationships so well as he tells his stories.

Thanks to @beckyb1012, the Terri Blackstock Restoration Series was beyond epic!

Re: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SERIES?

Maximillian, one thing I especially enjoy about DCI Banks is his interest in music.His scope is broad--and never dull.I am constantly amazed by the songs/performers he mentions. It's a bonus sidelight.

I own all of the Robinson books--I realized they were all great, and went crazy online, ordering. It's my private joy (and will keep me occupied for the next several months).

I keep many books going at the same time. It seems to be the only way I can truly enjoy my huge book collection.

Virgil Flowers series by John Sandford.

Vera Stanhope series (Ann Cleeves)

Gabriel Allon (Daniel Silva)

Unfortunately, Silva's recent books have gotten too political. I hate when that happens with a favorite author.

@teganslaw I agree with you!  It made me sick about Daniel Silva.  I have also enjoyed some of the old George Smiley books by John Le Carre, although they are harder to follow than Silva's books--at least to me!

Which reminds me...............the Terri Blackstock If I Run series was a real favorite. I remember thinking, 'this can't be the end. Surely she's got more in the series all planned!' But I guess it was the end. I can't tell you how much I loved those three books.

Re: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SERIES?

I like so many of the series that have already been mentioned.  Here's a few more that I don't think I saw on this thread:

Laurien Berenson's Dog Show mysteries

Donna Ball has two dog-centered mystery series

Sofie Kelly's Magical Cats mysteries

Laura Levine's Jaine Austen humorous mysteries

Donna Leon's Inspector Brunetti mysteries

Susan Wittig Albert's China Bayles mysteries

Dana Stabenow's Alaska mysteries

Viveca Sten's Swedish mysteries

Alexander McCall Smith has several series, both mystery and general fiction.

But I have to say, my favorite series of all is J. D. Robb's Eve Dallas mystery series.  I think there are 54 books so far, and I have all of them.  I've re-read the whole series several times, and I really enjoy them.  Lots of great side characters and witty dialogue.

@dawg lover

I can't believe that I forgot to put down the "In Death" series featuring Eve and Roarke, especially since I am currently reading "Portrait in Death".

I am going to check out the Alaska Mystery Series that you listed above.
