.I just finished The Night Fire A Renee Ballard and Harry Bosch Novel. Michael Connelly is the author.
I loved it. I hope that Michael continues to pair these two detectives together to solve crimes.

I just finished Inheritance. It is about a woman who discovers at the age of 54 she was conceived through artificial insemination and her quest to find her biological father. I can't recall the author. I pretty much skimmed through the book.
I imagine with the rise of fertility clinics this is more and more common. LM

Call Your Daughter Home, by Deb Spera; Her debut novel. Ms. Spera is the Executive Producer of "Criminal Minds" and "Army Wives" this is an outstanding book.
Almost done re-reading for the umpteenth time for the holidays the Cape Light Series, by Thomas Kinkade and Katherine Spencer. There are 15 in the series.

@Cherylou I have this on waitlist and am really looking forward to it (although I will not be getting it anytime soon). I loved The Night Circus.
I hope you'll come back and let us know how you liked The Starless Sea.
I, too, would like to hear your opinion.

@smoky22 wrote:For anyone interested, the first round of the Goodreads Choice Awards for 2019 are available for voting. I was kind of amazed that in the Fiction category I have never heard of the majority of them.
But one of the books intrigued me, Where The Forest Meets The Stars, and naturally my library doesn't have it. It caused me to sign up for a free 30 day trial of Kindle Unlimited so I could get it, lol.
I voted for Miracle Creek in the best Debut Novel category.
Just to add:
"Force of Nature" by Jane Harper is up for best mystery (this is pre-voting), it's my favorite book of hers
and
Ninth House by Leah Bardugo for Best Fantasy
Best Fiction nominees:
(edited because I forgot some and added one that isn't there duh)
Olive, Again
Ask Again, Yes
The Gifted School
A Woman is No Man
The Overdue Life of Amy Byler
Red at the Bone
The Testaments (sequel to The Handmaid's Tale)
On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous
Normal People
The Last Romantics
Queenie
Fleischman is in Trouble
When All is Said
Where the Forest Meets the Stars*
The Most Fun We've Ever Had
I've heard of and, seen a lot of reviews here and on GR of most of them except for The Last Romantics, The Gifted School, Queenie and When All is Said -- but I have not read any of the nominees yet.
I voted for Olive out of sentiment and because it's got great reviews. These are just prelims and she's going to make it through.
Mostly I voted for the ones most people I know loved or liked a lot.
You can write in any book but it's a wasted vote.
*Smoky, so many reviews I read on GR of Where the Forest Meets the Stars love it! I don't know who votes for prelims but I don't think I've read a bad review of it.
Same with Ask Again Yes. People seem to love them.
