Re: WHAT ARE YOU READING? MARCH 2018

[ Edited ]

Yesterday I finished The Flight Attendent Front Cover

It was a little over my head with the "spy" talk, but I enjoyed the story.  I've read several books by Chris Bohjalian and I've enjoyed them.

Today I began reading Anatomy of a Miracle.  It's a story about a wounded Marine who is paralyzed from the waist down and one day in the parking lot of some convenience store, gets up from his wheelchair and begins walking.  Basdd on a true story I believe.

Cover image for Anatomy of a miracle : the true* story of a paralyzed veteran, a Mississippi convenience store, a Vatican investigation, and the spectacular perils of grace : *a novel / Jonathan Miles.

I just finished Beware The Past by Joy Ellis as I was reading this book I kept saying Ms. Ellis when does the action start, and probably just about 1/4 of the book left the action started and  Ms. Elliis was back.  I am not saying the first 3/4 of the book was bad, it was just a long journey to get to the action, but I must say a very well thought out book, and the first 3/4 is necessary to read to reach the action, did I guess who the bad person was, yes but I dismissed it almost immediately, should have stayed with the first instinct, overall I would give 4 out of 5 stars.

@CANDLEQUEENnext read is Creep, I remember you enjoyed it, so I am looking forward to this one too, thanks for highlighting this book as I would never have known to even look for it.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU READING? MARCH 2018

Thank you, @LoriLori, I know that was lot of work. So interesting. Especially knowing about sisters not marrying? And their lifestyle was wonderful-just shows 'money can't buy me love'. But you know what I mean. They had a good life, but didn't survive emotionally or something. Not all, anyway. Just fate I suppose. You could get another print of the picture online, or the one you showed us of a woman that you liked so much. Or is it a 'that was then this is now' kind of thing? Like watching reruns of old sit coms. It just isn't the same.

Off to the library today to pick up Mary Higgins Clark's new book, "I'VE GOT MY EYES ON YOU" and J. A. Jance's "DUEL TO THE DEATH" (the new Ali Reynolds book).

@Judaline, thank you so much.  I have to admit I was wondering why you didn't respond and now I know Smiley Happy

I bet with modern medicine Jeannie and Florie could have had normal lives.  Florie was exhausted from her efforts to help out during World War I but it was the female stuff that got her.

The picture wouldn't fit in here, nor would any portrait.  Too formal.  This place is soooooo Florida Condo.  It would be like one of these things is not like the others.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU READING? MARCH 2018

Just finished The  Voice Inside by Brian Freeman.  It's book 2 in the Frost Easton series.  I liked it, I like the character.  I think it might be because Frost is an introvert & for the first time I'm reading about an introverted character.

We introverts have finally gotten our hero. Smiley Very Happy
