Just finished a debut by Julia Spiro, Someone Else's Secret.
Onto Fiona Davis' The Masterpiece. My first book by her and all of her others look just as interesting.

I just finished Just On Porpoise, Book 12 of the Hetta Coffey Series, by Jinx Schwartz. Once again, Hetta, Jan, Chino, and Jenks are in the Sea of Cortez, this time with Chino studying and trying to save the vaquita. The vaquita is on the brink of extinction, which is one theme of this book.
This is one of my favorite series to read. If you like strong women characters and lots of action, this being on the water in Hetta's 45 foot boat, the Raymond Johnson, then you will also enjoy the series.

Before I get into the book I just finished, I want to say that this is my favorite thread on this fourm so I hope nobody makes it political and gets it zapped. I am reviewing a book, not giving political commentary.
I just finished The Art of Her Deal by Mary Jordan. I read it because of the author. Mary Jordan is a pultizer prize winning journalist that works for the Washington Post. She has two other books that I read and really liked. I know of her because she was a year behind me in high school.
Back to the book. The book is about Melania Trump. It is not a politcal book, it is about who Melania is and how she got to where she is. The author spent 4 years interviewing people about her. She only had one interview with Melania herself and that was in 2016. Unfortunately, at the end of the book I knew very little about Melania that I didn't know before reading the book. She is an extremely private person and keeps to herself. She is not shy, just private. I did get the impression she is very driven and shrewd. The title is a play on her husbands book, and has to do with how she was able to successfully renogotiate her pre-nup and make sure her son Barron is treated as his 3 elder half siblings in the future.
I can't reccommend you read the book. As I said, there really wasn't much substance. Just a lot of interviews with people saying how private she is.
One thing I was happy to read is that Barron seams like a normal happy kid. He has friends in school, loves soccer and is very close to him mother and grandparents.
Again, let's not get this thread deleted. Many of us come to this thread for reading suggestions. In fact my next book Saint X I heard about from this thread.

@Travone - I just finished the Melania book and the Mary T. book about the POTUS as well. I thought both were interesting books, although I rarely read non-fiction or biographies. I wouldn't say either one was a page-turner, stay up at night to read type of book. I actually preferred the Melania book, probably since I knew less about her, and I thought it was more professionally written as well. Now, back to my beloved mystery books!

I was looking ahead into 2021, to see what some of my favorite authors will be publishing, and I found two interesting books:
For fans of John Sandford, his next book OCEAN PREY will bring Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers together to solve a case. It will come out in April. I look forward to that.
For @smoky22 and other fans of P. J. Tracy, she has a new book coming out in January, but it is not a Monkeewrench book. She is starting a new series. The book is called DEEP INTO THE DARK. I'm a little disappointed that it's not a Monkeewrench book, but I'll give it a try.

@joammi wrote:Have you read THE TEN THOUSAND DOORS OF JANUARY? If you enjoy fantasy I think you would really like this book. The author is Alex Harrow.
@joammi I enjoyed this book, too, even though fantasy is not usually my first choice. And I thought it was better than Erin Morgenstern's book, The Starless Sea.
