@smoky22  That usually means they haven't gotten the book yet themselves. Must be new?

THE GREAT ALONE by Kristin Hannah

This book is a fiction, but seems all too real at times.  The family moves to Alaska, not knowing anything about the means of living off the land.  They soon learn, sometimes the hard way.  But, for the wife and daughter, survival also means coping with an abusive husband and father.  Although I hated this book, I was compelled to keep reading.  It is well written and easy to read physically, but emotionally is hard.  One plus for me is that the characters seemed real, almost like I knew them.  It is strange that I kept reading something I didn't like.  I just kept hoping.

I started this book but could not even get to page 70.  I found it disturbing.

@Judaline I'm not sure what you mean.  The books I mentioned aren't new.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU READING? ~APRIL 2018~

I just finished South of Main Street by Robert Gately, one of the best books that I have read.  This is the story of Henry Wolf, the death of his wife Mary, and his two daughters who spend most of their time arguing about Henry, who is considered by some to be eccentic caused by either PTSD or the death of his son.  The town is divided by north and south of Main, or the haves and have nots.  The story is also about the people who Henry befriends along the way and Henry's secret.  This is a story that you will not forget.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

@CareBears

I have read several of her books over 20 years ago. I forgot about her. So many books so little time. (smile)  I had no idea that she had written so many books or that she had branched out to other genres .

Oh, OK. I just meant so many times I've waited and waited for my library book which I had on hold, and my position in line hadn't changed and it was because it was a new book and the library itself was waiting for it to come in-not in your case I don't think.

Is Smith’s 44 Scotland Street series as good as the No. 1 Ladies Detective series (which I loved!)?

 I have read two books recently which I’ve enjoyed:

The Whip -Kondazian

Midnight Rose - By Lucinda Riley

I was surprised she had written this book @DiAnne because it was disturbing but I am so glad I finished.  It really was a good book but there were parts that made me hurt but the ending was well worth it.

@CareBears@CANDLEQUEEN

Jennifer Hiller CREEP is going on the list. I really enjoy thrillers which seems to be along the lines of Michael Robotham Joe O'Loughlin series.

@sunala I have a list of authors which I keep in alpha order and R for Robotham seems to be lagging as I read slow and other books pop up. Thanks for reminding me to catch up on his books.

I just finished Linda Ladd's GONE BLACK a Claire Morgan series. Female detective gone private with a rich psychologist that fights crime on the side. Just fun read.

Started AJ FINN WOMAN IN THE WINDOW highly recommended here. 1/4 of the way through and am enjoying it very much.

@Yahooey it was a good book but do not forget to read The Wife Between Us if you have not done so yet.  I read it just after Woman In The Window and really liked it much better.  More suspense and I could not figure out the ending like so many other books.
