Found this wonderful book at the local library quite by chance and am so glad I did. Tom Hanks is a great writer. The book is a compilation of short stories - some quite humorous, some poignant but all relatable.
I learned that he has an affinity for antique typewriters and has collected them for years.
On a video of John Stamos's $5.8 million house as featured in Architecture Digest, John shows the manual typewriter Tom Hanks gifted him with a typewritten note in the platen. He asked for a typewritten reply from John, but John made a mess of it on the manual typewriter. So, instead he called Tom to thank him.
Highly recommend this book. A good read.
