I put this book, Beneath a Scarlet Sky on hold at our library, thanks to these recommendations. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is another book I highly recommend.

@Spinach30- this is one of the few books that made me cry out loud. I was literally sobbing at the ending. I can't take too many of these books at a time. I have to space them out because they can be overwhelming. Excellent book.

I also really liked this book. I read many books about the war and I thought this one based on the Italian point of view very interesting . The main character was inspirational.

I highly recommend.
