@LoriLori  I agree with @abbalulu.  I love your enthusiasm and zeal for this book.  You are persistent in the best way.  Amazon doesn't know who they are dealing with!

@LoriLori - my book arrived today!  It took 11 days to come and I got a Spot the dog bookmark.  I sat right down and have read 1/3 of it already.  Very enjoyable so far.

Editing my post to say I finished the book!  i just couldn't put it down.  It was wonderful; funny and sad and beautifully written.  Thank you so much for telling us all about it.

@dawg lover, what a wonderful post!  I am so glad you feel as I do.

Amazon has not gotten back to me but I'm not stopping.  I have no doubt if it was published here it would be a beloved bestseller as it has been in Europe and Asia.

Even though I'm almost done with another book I think about the end of "The Travelling Cat Chronicles' every day, it just comes to me, such beauty.

@dawg lover, forgot to ask:  When you say a Spot the dog bookmark is that Spot from ****** and Jane grade school primers?

No, it is from the Spot the Dog children's books by Eric Hill.  I seem to get all the bookmarks from children's books!

If you email with the publishers of The Travelling Cat Chronicles, you might mention that I think the blurb on the front of the book is discouraging sales.  It says "Heartbreaking" -- The Guardian.  Many people, including myself, do not want to read a sad book.  Most of this book is funny, not sad, but this blurb on the front of the book gives the wrong impression.  If they publish it in America, I hope they will change that.

@dawg lover, I did it already and don't expect to hear back since Amazon didn't answer yet.  But I took a chance.  If I hear back then I can criticize LOL.  I don't mind that it says that but I will say someone I know minds very much.

ETA:  Should also mention it was a bestseller in UK and other European countries as well as Japan which makes it that much stranger that it wasn't published here!

I asked on the monthly thread if you and @smoky22 would go to Amazon and write great reviews or else like the five-star ones.  That may help get their attention.  Or not but it can't hurt!

@abbaluluand @Judaline, please do it too whenever you finish.

@LoriLori will do! Also went to the place where you can ask for them to have a kindle edition and clicked on that.

@abbalulu@smoky22@dawg lover@Judaline,

Should I read into it that no one hearted my review?  Did no one like it enough to "like" it?  Hahahahaha.  I got my widdle feelings hurt which makes me a baby as well as a crusader LOL.  No worries, I have a surprisingly low reviewer number, I just was surprised.

@LoriLori - Sorry, I was reading on my Ipad, which for some reason, will not let me use the heart icon. I went to Amazon and "liked" all the good reviews.  I've been busy reading up on Survivor, to get ready for the new season!

Re: The Traveling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa

@LoriLori sorry, I've been remiss about liking all the 5 star reviews.  I just went and did that.  I also wrote a short review myself.

I don't usually review anything on Amazon although my ratings that go to Goodreads (linked to my kindle) also go to Amazon, I think.  I don't know how they deal with ratings that have no review associated with it, but I hope they count them.

Since this was not an ebook (thus no automatic rating for Goodreads or Amazon), I did an actual 5 star review.
