The Melody Lingers On by Mary Higgins Clark

Just finished it. The plot line was a wee bit different than her other books. And somewhat surprising. It's about a Ponzini Scheme guy who dies in a boating accident. Really don't want to spoil the rest of story!

Love Mary Higgins Clark books and mourn her death.  The book mentioned by the OP is from 2015.
