Just finished Swan Song by Elin Hildebrand.  Her last "Nantucket" novel.  It was ok but I still liked The Nantucket Hotel better.  Her books are definitely "light" reading but they do entertain which I guess is the point.  I much prefer a Louise Penney book any day.

I have never read her books, I checked one out online so thanks for the recommendation.  I had trouble finding her because there is an R in her last name. Just fyi in case anyone else tries to find her its Hilderbrand.

I like her books and like the continuation of stories and characters.  It is light reading but still good with character depth.  Very sorry to see her quit her writing career.

I loved Swan Song (love all her books) but I absolutely hated the ending.  I was so disappointed.  Altho maybe this is the way life goes.

I hope she's really not retiring but it sounds like she is.

Actually she is currently writing a book with one of her daughters and she said that MAYBE there will be another Nantucket book down the road.  So she is not completely retiring just from this line of books, at least for now.

@bargainsgirl I realize this is an old thread, but I didn't see your last comment.  I am glad to know that she is not retiring completely.  I just now got Swan Song from my library and am thoroughly enjoying it.  I can't put it down.  I've not finished reading it, obviously, so I hope I don't find the ending disappointing.  We will see!  ETA:  @FranandZoe I didn't like the ending and felt it unnecessary to the story line.  Still a good book!
