My husband is not a big reader. Yesterday he asked that I find him a book to read on vacation. Patterson and King are the only authors he has faithfully read. I don't think he'd like political espionage or thrillers. Maybe a mystery or science fiction. Do any of you have some author suggestions? I was thinking a book by Greg Iles might be something he'd enjoy.

My husband really likes David Baldacci's books. Many are political and I don't care for those. I do recommend Baldacci's Amos Decker series which is not political. I would suggest reading them in order - the first one is titled Memory Man.

Maybe the Alex Cross series of James Patterson?

We both enjoy the Alex Cross series. DH likes the Jesse Stone movies with Tom Selleck. He might like the succinct writing style of that author ( I think it might be Robert Parker).

@AuntG Auntie, I'm not the one to respond... I read a lot of books, but I've never been able to make it through anything Patterson has written... But then I've never tried anything from his main series...

@AuntG My husband and a friend always read Lee Child's Jack Reacher books. I love Daniel Silva's Gabriel Allon series!
For a change of pace David McCullough writes wonderful books and has a wide range of topics, so you might check those out.
Doris Kearns Goodwin wrote Wait Until Next Year which is: Set in the suburbs of New York in the 1950s, Wait Till Next Year re-creates the postwar era, when the corner store was a place to share stories and neighborhoods were equally divided between Dodger, Giant, and Yankee fans.
Has he read the old James Michner books? Those are spell binding to me--at least some. And Edward Rutherford's books are good if you are interested in the area. I loved Sarum--one of my favorites.
Just tossing these out for a change of pace.

Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann
This is a nonfiction book about the Osage murders and creation of the FBI. Everyone to whom I have recommended this book -- men and women -- has really enjoyed it. Good luck!

@JanetsGirl we watched a documentary about those murders with great interest.
